COLD BURNISHING OF STEEL - OFFICIAL DISTRIBUTOR FOR ITALY: SALES ASSISTANCE OF COLD BURNISHING CYCLE METHOD OF USE
MINIMUM WORKING TEMPERATURE: 14 ° Provide a preventive degreasing, making sure to remove any traces of protective oils, whole tapping oils, traces of felt-tip pen or rust. The pieces can be sandblasted, in this case the degreasing operation can be avoided.
DEGREASER time: 10 minutes - Preparation: 50% product 50% water Immersion and thorough rinsing bath in water for about 1 minute.
CONDITIONER time: 1 minute Maximum Preparation: 50% part of product - 50% parts of water Immersion and rinsing bath in water 1 minute
BURNISHING time: from 1 to 10 minutes based on the amount of carbon contained in the material and the active ingredients still present in the burnishing solution. Preparation: (ATTENTION fear freezing) Immersion and rinsing bath in water 2/3 minutes Blowing and drying with cloth or paper then pass the pieces in the protective. It is important not to leave pieces in contact with the air after bathing and rinsing after bluing.
PROTECTIVE is used pure - time: 10 minutes minimum. Remove and leave to dry in the room for 20 minutes. The use of a long-lasting protective is recommended to obtain a more shiny appearance.
PRECAUTIONS FOR USE For pieces that have undergone processing or treatments at high temperatures, surface decarburization may occur, in this case a preventive pickling in an acid bath or sandblasting is required.
The CONDITIONER and the BURNER must be contained in plastic material, while the degreaser and the protective agent, if contained in plastic materials, ensure that they are anti-solvent. Be careful not to forget pieces immersed in the tanks of the CONDITIONER and BURNISHER solution as the product tends to run out.
MAINTENANCE AND TOP-UP OF THE BURNISHING SYSTEM During the burnishing process, saline residues are formed which settle on the bottom of the tank. When these, during the immersion of the pieces, numb the solution (this could occur after a long use of the bathroom), it is necessary to remove them. The recommended methods are as follows: - In the morning, after letting the solution settle, pour the liquid very slowly into another tank and remove the muddy part. - Transfer the clear liquid always and only on the surface - Filter the solution.
The topping up serves to restore the active ingredients contained in the liquid considering that a new solution contains 25% of active ingredients. By carrying out the bluing process these decrease. The optimal range is 15 to 30%.
Failure to properly top up where it requires retitling would compromise the effectiveness of the burnishing bath. The degreasing solution and the conditioning solution must be replaced when they are exhausted. The protective product can be restored by adding a new product (as consumption derives from the quantity adhered to the treated parts) and cleaned of the water that settles on the bottom through decanting. It is also advisable to install a grid on the bottom of the tank at a height of about 2 cm. So that the pieces are not immersed in water instead of in oil.
